Joinery Part 2: Hinged Box or Part 3: Side Table (Combined Course)

This is a combined course. For those who have completed the 101 Part 1 Step Stool class, you will build a hinged box, focusing on foundational joinery techniques such as box joints. If you have completed the 101 Part 2 Box class, you will build on these skills by creating a side table using advanced techniques like dovetail and mortise-and-tenon joints. 

Both projects showcase practical woodworking techniques that result in beautiful, functional pieces to take home, so refine your skills while crafting timeless pieces in this engaging and hands-on woodworking experience!  

Joinery Part 2: Create a Hinged Small Tool Box

Join us for an exciting woodworking class where you’ll craft a beautiful and functional hinged box designed to keep your delicate tools safe and organized. In this hands-on workshop, you'll build a custom-sized box measuring approximately 10” x 14” x 3 ½” tall, perfect for storing your treasured woodworking tools. 

Joinery Part 3: Build Your Own Side Table

Build a stylish side table while mastering essential woodworking techniques! This class covers key joinery methods, including dovetail, mortise and tenon, and lap joints. Perfect for advancing your skills and creating a functional piece to take home.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Completion of 101 Part 1 is required for the Part 2: Hinged Box
  • Completion of 101 Part 1 and Part 2 is required for the Part 3: Side Table

DETAILS:

  • Class is 10 Weeks long with a minimum of 30 total hours
  • If you need to skip a class, you may make it up during another class session
  • Tuition includes all shop materials fee

SCHEDULE: The dates listed below apply to the full term. However, your specific start date will depend on the day you choose for your class. 

  • Winter 25 Term: Jan 6 - Mar 22
  • Spring 25 Term: Apr 7 - Jun 14
  • Summer 25 Term: June 23 - August 30
  • Fall 25 Term: Sep 22 - Dec 14

REQUIRED TOOLS:

These tools can be purchased from the workshop or online from our store HERE and we will have them ready for you when class begins.

  • 12" Combination Square with protractor head and center finder. (optional to get a 6" as well)
  • Marking Gauge
  • Digital/Dial Caliper
  • Marking Knife 

PAY VIA CASH or CHECK:

If you pay by check or cash, your tuition will only be $400 and we will hold your reservation for up to 5 days. Your reservation will be released unless payment is received within this timeframe.
